Throwing money at America’s educational institutions with the hope that the cash advance will instantly translate into a transcendent educational experience has always been short-sighted. Matt Lauer and President Obama talked about this really issue on “Today’s” “Education Nation.” Obama said what is needed is an schooling reform. With millions of stay-at-home moms and dads watching – the president’s target audience for his American education message – Obama said that there should be a longer school year and that teacher accountability should be monitored for the sake of the profession and for our kids.
Cash will not make educational facilities any better
“When you take a look at the statistics,” President Obama told “Today,” it’s easy to see the money now approach hasn’t made a difference. Student results have gone down dramatically in the last 20 years. Also, during this time, spending per pupil has gone up a lot. The president did point out that money makes a difference in some educational institutions, such as those without the funding to provide up-to-date textbooks. The small amount of support it gives is not much. That is because what is really needed is schooling reform.
Make the year lengthier with teachers that really care
The teaching profession won’t be as wasteful with the agenda the president has for an schooling reform. Instructors need to shape up if they aren’t protected by unions anymore. Mr. Obama did not specify how much longer American children should remain in school (there were references to an additional month), but he did point out to Lauer that students within the American schooling system spend less time within the classroom on average than kids in “most other advanced countries.” That would be fine if United States of America schools taught more efficiently than those of other nations, but that isn’t the case.
'Race to the Top’
The “Race to the Top” program was initiated by the Obama administration. It is supposed to give to educational facilities that commit to the education reform $4 billion which can be distributed. Schools subject to funds reject the notion of a “status quo in which one-third of children are dropping out,” said Obama. Teachers Unions are going to have to change. They will need to let instructors be evaluated more strictly.
Teacher training and ongoing teacher education are part of “Race to the Top.” It also involves hiring the best teachers. Becoming successful in school depends on more than just the teachers. Parent involvement will assist drastically. Parents are the only ones that can aid children gain good habits and show kids they care.
